I am Building a New Vinyl Liner Pool

Is There A Pool Cover For A Vinyl Liner Pool?

From a beautiful rectangular pool to elaborate shaped design…in most cases, and with a little pre-planning…a Pool Cover Specialists® pool cover can easily fit into your designs and budget!

The answer is…Yes! In fact, with over 35 years experience in manufacturing automatic swimming pool covers, we have designed specific track and system options that work perfectly with Vinyl Liner pools.

Now that you know you can have an automatic pool cover, you just need to decide which system is right for you and what your budget is. Keep in mind, regardless of your budget…an automatic swimming pool is classified as a standalone barrier in many states and is also a “vapor barrier” which means that if your pool is heated, just by adding a pool cover you can reduce your heating costs by as much as 85%, basically making the return on investment as little as 2 to 4 years.

We have the system to meet your needs no matter if it’s new construction or an existing pool. From our incredibly convenient and budget conscious fully manual system the ManualTrak, to our fully automatic lines of the INFINITY 4000™, you will be amazed at what we can do with a Pool Cover and your pool!

Just like building a home…you have to start with a strong foundation. With a pool cover you need a solid “deck” and a well constructed Concrete, Redwood or Pool Cover Specialists® Polymer Housing Vault (which attaches right to the Fiberglass Pool Shell lip), unless you are going to place the pool cover mechanism on top of the deck (usually done with pre-existing pools). The pool deck and vault determine the type of pool cover system that can be installed, and can add more options and benefits for beautiful aesthetics, easy installation and years of hassle free maintenance.

Doing this pre-planning will help you achieve the beautiful and functional design you want…and provide you with the safety, energy & water conserving benefits of a Pool Cover Specialists® automatic pool cover.

Second…make sure all the different water features, fountains, waterfalls, slides, ladders, stairs, rock formations, volley ball or basketball posts, skimmer boxes, etc. are considered into the design and are built in such a way to accommodate the vault, tracks, and leading edge bar that pulls the cover onto the pool.

This is actually extremely simple and can easily be designed into your pool with a little forethought and planning. In many cases, when planned into the design, you can’t even tell a pool has an automatic cover.

Third…the shape of your pool must be considered…rectangles are elegant and easy, but even free form, kidney or other designed shapes, in many cases, can easily be covered if you plan ahead and remember that there are basic design limitations with all automatic safety covers…namely…you have to be able to put two straight edges somewhere on each side of the pool. BUT…just because you have straight lines on each side of the pool doesn’t mean you cannot be creative and use deck-on-deck or extreme cantilever designs to follow the shape of your pool.

Don’t get nervous about this last statement…you can still get the effect you are looking for, in many cases it’s simple to hide the tracks…IF…you design your pool with a pool cover in mind.

Don’t guess…let us help! Our trained staff of consultants can walk you, your designer and your builder through the whole process, and we have spec sheets that they can use to make their jobs easier and provide you with the perfect cover and look you want.
